It may sound wrong and it may be wrong
But the chances are if you play along
That you’ll wake one day in the middle of the night
And find that wrong has turned to right
Uncorked [Classic] (5 line limerick)
I found this among some old papers, and had to add the fifth line to complete it.
There once was a begger from York
Whose bottle was sealed by a cork
In order to pop it
He managed to drop it
Was licking the ground like a dork
Circus Applicant [Classic] (joke)
The circus ringmaster asks the applicant what he can do.
Without a word, the man flaps his arms, flies to the top of the tent, swoops through the trapeze, and soars around the high wire. Finally, he comes to a perfect landing next to the ringmaster.
The ringmaster says “We already have a bird impressionist.”
Fly Joke [Classic] (joke)
What do you call a fly without wings?
A walk
Riddle 6 [Classic] (3 line poem)
Who makes it, has no need of it
Who buys it, has no use for it
Who uses it can neither see nor feel it
Riddle 5 [Classic] (3 line poem)
Whoever makes it, tells it not
Whoever takes it, knows it not
And whoever knows it wants it not
Riddle 4 [Classic] (4 line poem)
From light and gentle morning kiss
To hot and angry screaming hiss
Has many faces, many names
But over all the world it reigns
Riddle 3 [Classic] (4 line poem)
Without a wound, like blood it spreads
Heatless fire, silent foe
Drawing life from trusted friends
The seeds of weakness doth it sow
Riddle 2 [Classic] (3 line poem)
It falls for a time, but never reaches the bottom
It rises thereafter, but cannot make the top
The higher you go, the lower it gets
Riddle 1 [Classic] (4 line poem)
A foe of age
A friend of youth
Looks never the same
But always speaks truth
