I have a beer brewing kit, which allows me to make a case or two of beer at home. I haven’t done it in a while, but years ago – I made a few batches, including one where I was challenged to come up with a name for the beer. So I leveraged a Clint Eastwood character from the movie The Good, The Bad and the Ugly where he played an outlaw who had no name (never told anyone what it was). I took an image of Eastwood from that movie, made it look more like me, then built a label around it.
From almost 20 years ago. I’m curious what tools I used to create this. Likely CAD software on a desktop computer.
These are two other figures that I designed for my metal figurine collection. (The first one was here.) I had intended to print them out, glue them to flat metal, and cut the metal – to end up with a physical ‘metal sculpture’ collection.
As I continue to learn the Procreate app, I produce some items with a surprisingly good result. Here is one. Now all I need to do is remember how I created this…
This is a fully-illustrated book on my writing site which should also be available from this art site. I illustrated this poem long ago using basic shapes in MS Paint for Windows, then injecting noise to pixilate the result.

I’ve been posting a lot of photos, so it’s time to post some artwork. Here is an item I worked on a few weeks back. I’ve kind of stalled on it, but had a vision of refining the trees, and maybe adding shadows/lighting to the lake and hills. Since I haven’t touched it for weeks, I will post it — and I’ll update it if/when I improve upon it.
I used to work with an SRE team (site reliability engineering). I wanted to create a logo for the team, and found a Sanskrit word ‘sri’ (there are other spellings) meaning ‘a successful result’. Seemed a good basis for a logo. The word sri has a distinctive symbol, and I tried to make an animal version of this symbol. This was my best result (my first attempt was a duck). Unfortunately, I parted ways with the team before I could roll out my creation.
Have been diddling with Procreate over the past year. I’ve found a few pieces of art that are worth sharing.
