I wrote this on the bus. Apparently it IS possible to be creative even in an imperfect environment &#8212; though&nbsp;admittedly I had to tweak some words over the following&nbsp;couple&nbsp;of days.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>We are wading in a steam:<br \/>\nSome near the center<br \/>\nIn the rushing current<br \/>\nBravely standing, stumbling<br \/>\nSometimes falling<br \/>\nCarried forward<\/p>\n<p>Leaving those behind<br \/>\nWho are in the shallows<br \/>\nClinging to branches<br \/>\nThat reach out protectively<br \/>\nImpeding progress<br \/>\nSafe, but still<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the current<br \/>\nOvertakes those who embrace it<br \/>\nAnd dismiss its mad danger &#8212;<br \/>\nOnly to fall beneath the surface<br \/>\nAnd never rise again<\/p>\n<p>In the shallows, some relax their grip<br \/>\nAnd let the current take them<br \/>\nSlow at first, then faster<br \/>\nAlive, joyful<br \/>\nBut angry that they waited for so long to let go<\/p>\n<p>Most&nbsp;never leave the shallows<br \/>\nStill holding tight<br \/>\nOr worse, decide to seek<br \/>\nThe cold solace of the riverbank<br \/>\nThis time, this time<br \/>\nThey find&nbsp;it<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey!
