I might have a high IQ (I have a crazy, swirling head.) But sometimes people with low IQ\u2019s think they are smart\u2026 &#x1f914;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some characteristics about me that might mean I <u>am<\/u> smart: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\"><strong>Math<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 As a teenager, I won a state-wide math competition (best math head in the state). Another lesser thing \u2014 I\u2019ve been recently playing a worldwide sudoku tournament on my phone (a mathy game), and the stats say that, on average, I complete a sudoku puzzle faster than 98% of the other players.<\/li><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\"><strong>Engineer<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 I have a problem-solving \u2018engineer head\u2019 which allows me to look at something, understand how it works, and fix it (if needed) or improve it. I also use my head to build interesting things \u2014 like crazy elaborate Halloween decorations.<\/li><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\"><strong>Music<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Weird thing about me, but \u2014 I know the words to thousands and thousands of songs, even songs from my childhood, and can sing along with these songs for hours while doing other things (like writing something like this).<\/li><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\"><strong>ADHD<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 One of my children got diagnosed with ADHD, and is taking medication for it. I have many characteristics of ADHD but, when I was tested for it, they said I was <u>too functional<\/u> \u2014 so I must not have it. BUT, maybe a \u2018smart person\u2019 can sufficiently function if they have ADHD. (This also makes me wonder that, if I took ADHD meds, maybe I\u2019d be extra capable\u2026?)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So, my two paths forwards are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\">Get an IQ test<\/li><li style=\"margin-left:40px;\">Talk with my neurologist about the possibility that I have ADHD, might be too smart to have it diagnosed, but could potentially benefit from taking ADHD meds<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Someday soon I should do an IQ test.
