I\u2019m taking depression medication now, so my head is in a better place, but my body isn\u2019t.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\nThe life I lead is less than the life I follow<br>\nI need to find more purpose, more value, more soul<br>\nMy emotions are empty, my brain feels nearly hollow<br>\nAs if I\u2019m buried in a deep, dark hole<br>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nMy wife fills most the gaps that I am missing<br>\nShe feeds me, pays the bills, maintains the house<br>\nI feel guilty, but too lazy to contribute<br>\nShe\u2019s wonderful \u2014 my lovely, helpful spouse<br>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI\u2019m trying (hard?) to move in the right direction<br>\nExercise, therapy, and meds<br>\nWith luck, I\u2019ll make real progress going forward<br>\nAnd fix the challenge swirling in my head<br>\n<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote this before I knew I had depression caused by ALS.
